About the Author and Speaker Iris E. May

Iris E May says she uses her middle initial because there are several Iris May’s on the internet. Iris E wants you to know she is the author who wrote 100,000 Miles to Home, Kidnapped, and Twisted Miles. Iris E is the one who started 100,000 Miles to Home while riding with her husband. With a full trailer load and a VOLVO, they arrived safely in New Jersey during a blizzard on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. She uses her experiences on the road, and happenings from other drivers to plot her books.

Iris E May wrote Kidnapped based on her family tree. Both of her parents’ genealogies are from Scotland, England, and a bit Irish. The true stories taken directly from journals and letters are written as fiction to protect the guilty.

Iris E May released a new book, Twisted Miles as a sequel to 100,000 Miles to Home. Both stories have strong heroines, because even now, truck driving is mostly considered a man’s profession. Both women were former military, and Angela is a single mom of a three-year-old, trying to survive and make a home for her daughter.

Twisted Miles uses a lesson learned by evil young men in high school to dictate June’s chosen profession. She is an undercover agent driving a specialized tractor-trailer. Her job is to point out and help capture traffickers who are often involved in drugs and gun running.

After much research, Iris learned and incorporated many things any reader can be aware of to help stop trafficking. Over twenty-five percent of victims are children.

Iris E May is a retired oncology nurse, and a former military spouse for twenty-three years. Iris’s husband traded the military and his civilian job to become a truck driver and she was privileged to ride with him.

In the middle of all that, she is the mother of four adult children, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Iris has traveled to Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, the Philippians, and Ethiopia. She lives in Texas which is so special it’s almost another country.

Iris uses life experiences to bring excitement and fun to her characters while showing how much Jesus loves each one of us.
